Chicago Bears free agency: Analyzing the first day

Wednesday was the first day of the NFL’s new year. There were many free agents who made moves, and the Chicago Bears were one of those teams who were the recipients. How well did they do on the first day?
Welcome to the 2016 NFL season.
The new season started at 4PM ET on Wednesday, and there were a plethora of moves made. A lot of names changed addresses, and some teams really did a lot to improve their roster.
The Chicago Bears were among the teams who made major signings. They added to their defense and their offensive line, and they re-signed some of their own players and kept them in the fold.
How well did the Chicago Bears do? I understand that everything now is just on paper, and we will not know for sure until the players hit the field. But it is still fun to analyze the moves made today, then wait in the future to see how right (or wrong) the team (and us) were.
Of course, there will be more moves made. The Bears have a lot of holes to fill, and they have some deep pockets. We will take a look at just their first moves.
