David Bruton, 28

This may be a move the Chicago Bears are already mulling over. They are reportedly interested in signing Bruton.

Bruton’s first choice is staying in Denver, but the Broncos have a couple of other players they need to sign (including Super Bowl MVP Von Miller), so he may be expendable.

If he does leave, however, Bruton could want to be reunited with his former coach John Fox.

In 2015, Bruton had 49 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in thirteen games. His season ended early when he suffered a fractured fibula late in the season. To show how tough he is, he suffered the injury early in the game, yet played out the rest of the game, leading the team in snaps played with 77.

Hopefully Bruton’s rehab is going well and he won’t have any residual effects from the injury. He would be a good addition to the strong safety slot for the Bears.

Bruton also adds the high quality character personality that the Chicago Bears are looking for. He was the Broncos’ NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, and has been a team captain for the last three seasons.

Bruton would be a good addition to the Chicago Bears defense. He is a good strong safety who would be a great locker room presence. The Bears roster is getting younger, and there will be a need for veteran leadership on the defense.
