Chicago Bears free agency: Offensive linemen
Byron Bell, Tackle — Tennessee Titans
Bell played at Carolina for four seasons before signing with the Titans last offseason. He is a behemoth, at 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds.
Bell can play either guard or tackle, and on either side, so he can add versatility for the Bears. You can put him almost anywhere on the line, and he can help out.
Bell is one of those guys who just wants to play. It does not matter to him where he plays, as long as he is in there.
“Since I have been in the league, I have played all four positions,’’ Bell said. “Whatever they want me to do, I’ll do it. I am not going to complain about it. I am blessed to still be playing ball.

Bell just turned 27 this month, so he has the combination of experience and youth. He is not as widely known as the others, so he may be had at a bargain. There will probably be a couple of players on the line who may not return, so signing someone like Bell, along with drafting someone, would be beneficial for the Chicago Bears.
There are other players available in free agency. Russell Okung will be a free agent, but he has battled through a number of injuries over the past couple of years. Evan Mathis is still pretty good, but he is 34 years old, and ready to begin his descent.
