Chicago Bears draft prospects: Offensive linemen
The Chicago Bears‘ offensive line was ravaged with injuries. The team needs to infuse some young blood so the unit could maintain good play throughout the season.
At the end of the season, Chicago Bears fans were bemoaning the awful play of the offensive line. The linemen could not open holes for the rushing attack, and Jay Cutler had to be running for his life.
What many don’t realize is that despite the injuries, the line did a good job. It was just that there were so many of them, and the Bears had to use so many combinations that in the end they could not overcome the injuries.
There are some good players on the line. Matt Slauson did a good job at guard before having to move over to center.
Kyle Long is a stud, and he will be on the Chicago Bears line for some time, but probably not at tackle, his Pro Bowl berth notwithstanding. He had his troubles at tackle, though it was his first year there, and he could get better with an offseason of training.
The Chicago Bears will need to infuse some young blood into the line. They need some players without a lot of mileage on their bodies.
