Trumaine Johnson (71 tackles, 7 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery) — Los Angeles Rams

This is the guy I personally want the Chicago Bears to pick up. He is a pure stud, and is an underrated player.

You want a cornerback who can help with the run? Johnson is ranked as the 13th-best cornerback against the run.

You want a coverage cornerback? Johnson ranks 27th in coverage.

You want a ball hawk who can force turnovers? Johnson had seven interceptions in 2015.

The St. Louis (Los Angeles) Rams were fortunate to have two super cornerbacks. Both of them are going to be free agents, however, and I don’t believe they will be able to sign them both, even if they use the franchise tag.

Johnson is another one of those long corners who has the aggression to be successful against the top-notch quarterbacks and receivers.

Johnson was supposed to spend this season as a rotational cornerback, but an injury that ended E.J. Gaines‘ season opened the door for him, and he made the best of it. He played in 14 games and started a career-high 13 of them.

Having Johnson on the Chicago Bears would add the toughness and ferocity the franchise’s defense is known for. His ability to cause turnovers is something this defense is sorely lacking.

The Bears need to get back to the turnover machine it has been in the past, and Trumaine Johnson can help them do that.
