William Jackson III (6-foot-2,195 pounds) — Houston

Jackson has what scouts and teams want in the modern cornerbacks — he has speed, size and length. He is also aggressive enough to fight against the big, strong receivers that are now the rage. He can stay with his receiver and has the skills to snatch the ball away from him.

In 2015, Jackson had 43 tackles, 5 interceptions and 23 passes defended, despite missing some games late in the season.

With his instincts, speed and coverage senses, Jackson can take away the short pass but also not get beat on the long pass. He can either press his man off the line of scrimmage or play off-man.

Jackson is able to diagnose plays quickly, helping him get to the ball fast. He has good change-of-direction ability and football intelligence.

Jackson will need to temper his aggression. He can jump a route too soon and a pump fake or a double move can have him off-balance and beat.

Jackson is slated to be picked in the second round, though I think he may go in the third. If he can keep from being too aggressive at the next level (maybe getting burned by the pros early will help him with that), he will be a very good NFL corner. He could be great starting out as the nickel corner for the Chicago Bears, and once he gets his feet wet and he works on his technique, he could take over and have a good career.
