Chicago Bears Draft Prospects: Outside Linebackers
Joshua Perry (6-foot-4, 254 pounds) — Ohio State
It is fun watching Perry’s play on film. He plays hard and fast on every play. He has strong hands and is able to finish through on his tackles.
This season, Perry had 105 tackles (7.5 for loss) and 3.5 sacks. He was selected by the coaches to be on the All Big 10 First Team.
Perry has the stuff to be a leader of whatever team plays for. Many in the Ohio State program laud his mature mentality, and he is the Buckeyes’ leader on and off the field. The coaching staff love how coachable he is.
“He’s what college football is all about,” Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said about Perry.
"He has an incredible ability to make someone’s day a little brighter, and he takes that very serious. He’s what college football is all about. He has an incredible ability to make someone’s day a little brighter, and he takes that very serious. A great young man. A great young man."
“What time is it? 4:14,” Ohio State Vice President and Director of Athletics Gene Smith said multiple times. “I’d hire him at 4:15. That guy is a stud.”
With the concerns the Chicago Bears coaching staff have had about having players with great attitude, Perry would fit in with what they are looking for. He is not flashy on the field. The Buckeyes had a bunch of stars, and he has been overlooked. He was not a five-star recruit, but he worked hard and now he is one of the top NFL prospects.
