The Chicago Bears had a bye in Week 7. After a 2-4 start to the season, they are trying to regroup, tweak things so they can have a good end to the season.
Even though they did not play, the Bears still made news during the week. Jay Ratliff caused quite a stir at Halas Hall last week, and was asked to leave. He did, but then returned, and he caused such a commotion that the Lake Forest Police had to be called.
Of course, the Chicago Bears were mum on what happened, and some of the media was accused of holding off on reporting anything.
Ratliff was quickly released by the Bears.
That now puts the pressure on rookie Eddie Goldman . He did a good job stepping in for Ratliff during his three-game suspension earlier this season, but now he knows that he has to be the man in the middle of the defensive line.
How Goldman reacts to being a full-time starter will go a long way in helping the Bears get back to respectability.
