Chicago Bulls news: Which player steps up in Mike Dunleavy’s absence?
By Paul Steeno
On Friday, the Chicago Bulls announced that forward Mike Dunleavy would miss between eight and ten weeks after he underwent surgery on his lower back. Who will replace the starting small forward in his absence?
The Chicago Bulls lost another player to injury. Veteran forward Mike Dunleavy will miss at least eight weeks following a lower-back microdiscectomy procedure on Friday. The 35-year-old averaged 11.7 points per game last season with the Chicago Bulls. He signed a three-year, $14.4 million contract with the Bulls over the summer.
The Chicago Bulls enter their 2015-2016 campaign shorthanded. In addition to Dunleavy, Bulls big man Taj Gibson underwent an  arthroscopy on his left knee in June and will miss up to four months from when the surgery occurred.
Mike Dunleavy is a tough player for the Chicago Bulls to replace because of his ability to space the floor for his teammates and knock down three pointers at a high clip when given the opportunity. Bleacher report writer Sean Highkin tweeted out stats that reiterated Dunleavy’s value to this team last season.
Is there any player on this Chicago Bulls roster that could replace Mike Dunleavy and, if so, who is it?
