The Chicago Bears played surprisingly well in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. Did their good game merit an increase in the power rankings?
The Chicago Bears had a very difficult time with the Green Bay Packers last season. Difficult as in Aaron Rodgers throwing SIX touchdowns in a half.
When the schedules came out and the Packers were right there in Week 1, you could hear the groans from Bears fans.
Finally, the time to start the week arrived, and the Bears looked pretty good. So good, in fact, they had a halftime lead. Yes, I know it was just a half, but looking over some of the scores in not just Packers games but also many other games, having a halftime lead is progress.
Of course, the Packers took the lead, and won the game. Rodgers had three touchdown passes and missed on only five passes in 23 attempts.
Still, from the way the Bears played, this season may not be as bad as most think. Barring injuries, they will be better than being the worst team in the NFL as the USATODAY Sports predicted.
Let’s see how the Bears fare in the Week s rankings:
