February 21 vs. Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are not a playoff contender – not even close. Not even with a healthy Kobe Bryant.
This is not a game in which we will be looking at how the teams match up, and how the Bulls may need to win this game. This will probably be a Bulls blowout.
The attraction of this game revolves around Kobe Bryant.
The whispers are growing louder that this may be Bryant’s final NBA season. The prevailing thought is that he will play this season, and since there will be no title for him in the end, he will play for USA Basketball in the Olympics in 2016 and then ride off into the sunset with a gold medal.
Even when healthy, Bryant’s had a hard time dealing with Butler. Butler is one of the premier defenders in the league, and Bryant has a lot of mileage on his body. That is not a good combination.
Bryant will still give it his all if, indeed, this is his final season. He loves killing it on the big stage, and Chicago has one of the biggest in the league. Bryant will try to put on a show, and Butler and the rest of the Bulls will get his best.
