So what does the Ghost of Bears’ offensive coordinators’ future (Adam Gase) have in store for Jay Cutler in 2015?
Adam Gase is now the fifth offensive coordinator that Jay Cutler has worked with while quarterbacking for the Bears.
How will Cutler fare in his first season with Gase?
The past would suggest that Cutler should show improvement in his first season under Gase. Looking at his past offensive coordinators with the Bears, Cutler showed improvement in their first season with the team with the exception of Mike Tice in 2012.
After a 76.8 passer rating with Ron Turner in 2009, Cutler’s passer rating jumped to 86.3 with Mike Martz in 2010. After a passer rating of 81.3 under Tice in 2012, Cutler’s passer rating ascended to 89.2 in 2013 under Aaron Kromer.
So, if the trend continues, Cutler should show improvement under Gase in 2015. Especially once you consider the fact that the Bears’ offense will be equipped with the best group of wide receivers that Cutler has had while with the Bears and a more balanced approach.
Perhaps Ebeneezer Cutler’s future with the Bears is much brighter than his dark past.
