After re-uniting with quarterback Jay Cutler on the Bears, veteran wide receiver Eddie Royal could be flex option for the fantasy owners this season.

Eddie Royal’s best season in the NFL was his rookie season in 2008 when he was with the Denver Broncos and paired with current Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler.

During the 2008 season, Royal totaled 980 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns on 91 receptions.

For the second time in his career, Royal will be paired with Cutler. Based off the production that Royal had with Cutler as his quarterback in 2008, the Bears’ wide receiver may be a nice option for fantasy owners to consider as a flex option.

Royal figures to play an important role in the Bears’ offense. Entering the 2015 season, Royal is expected to be the Bears’ slot receiver behind Alshon Jeffery and rookie wide receiver Kevin White. Cutler and the Bears’ offense have lacked a legitimate slot receiver in recent seasons.

Cutler figures to depend on Royal on underneath routes throughout the 2015 season but the former San Diego Chargers’ wide receiver also has the ability to play on the outside and run deep routes.

Royal gives the Bears’ offense an added dynamic in 2015 and that will make him a fantasy player to watch.
