The Bears’ week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboy was face-palm moment for the team as it led to yet another locker room controversy for the team.

On the field in their Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Bears were once again lifeless. The Cowboys were leading 35-7 before the Bears scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to make the final score of 41-28 look more respectable than the way the team actually played.

But, in what became a theme for the Bears during the 2014 season, the story was not what happened on the field.

Instead, the story was what occurred off the field. The Bears’ game against the Dallas Cowboys last season was a Thursday Night Football game on NFL Network. That was the game where NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport received information for a report that following Sunday that indicated that the Bears had “buyer’s remorse” over Cutler.

The following week, it was revealed that Bears’ offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer was the source for Rapoport’s report. Instead of firing Kromer immediately, the Bears allowed the former Saints’ offensive coordinator to maintain in his position as long as he apologized to Cutler and the team. Kromer was reported to be crying during his apology to the team.

The Kromer incident was yet another indication that Trestman had lost control of his team. Furthermore, it was an indication that Bears’ general manager Phil Emery was a lame duck. Emery remained silent during the fallout of Kromer’s betrayal and that is simply unacceptable for a NFL general manager.
