Week 8-10 may have been what sealed the fate of head coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery. After losing 51-23 to the New England Patriots in Week 8, the Bears returned from their bye week in Week 10 and lost 55-14 to the Green Bay Packers.

If there was a time when Bears’ fans disappointment for the team in 2014 turned to hatred, it was after the Bears’ 55-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 10.

The thing that was most embarrassing about the Bears’ loss to the Packers in Week 10 was the fact that they trailed 42-0 at halftime. In the second half, while Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers was on the sideline laughing it up with his teammates, the Bears were still struggling to score their first points of the game.

After their loss to the Panthers in Week 10, reports had the Bears’ management gathering in a closed-door meeting. The hope was that the Bears would begin their culture change then by firing Trestman. Instead, the following day, Trestman took the podium as the Bears’ head coach and gave a vote of confidence to all the members of his coaching staff.

It was baffling that not only was Trestman allowed to remain in place as the team’s head coach, but Mel Tucker was also allowed to remain in place as the team’s defensive coordinator.
