After an inspiring 27-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons during Week 6 of the 2014 season, any momentum that the team had was lost in their Week 7 game against the Miami Dolphins.

If there was any game that may have been a warning shot for how fractured things were in the locker room for the Bears under former head coach Marc Trestman, it may have been their Week 7 game against the Miami Dolphins last season.

On the field, the Bears never did have a chance. The Dolphins jumped out to a 14-0 lead at halftime and the lead expanded to 21-7 as the teams entered the fourth quarter. The final score of the game would wind up being 27-14 as the Dolphins made easy work of the Bears.

The fireworks came after the game in the Bears’ locker room. Reports had suggested that there was a shouting match in the Bears’ locker room after their loss to the Dolphins. The belief is that then Bears’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall singled out quarterback Jay Cutler and kicker Robbie Gould.

Cutler’s play was uninspiring against the Dolphins as the quarterback totaled 190 passing yards while having a QBR of 18.5.

It’s unclear what made Marshall go after Gould but the wide receiver was heard saying something along the lines of you’re just a kicker.

The issue is not that this happened. The issue is that the incident got out of hand to the point where the media were allowed to report on it. A sign that Trestman had no control of the Bears’ locker room last season.
