 The Wrigley Field Renovations

After much rancor and fight, the Chicago Cubs finally won and their plans for the four-year Wrigley Field renovations project went ahead.

The Wrigley renovations are very important for the Cubs. It is old and needed a face lift. Ultimately, there will be a hotel across Wrigley, renovated bleachers, concourses, bullpens and clubhouse, a museum and restaurant.

The first phase of the plans involved installing a jumbotron and renovating the bleachers. With the cold Chicago winter, the project was delayed at times, and the bleachers were not opened in time for Opening Day.

It was a strange sight seeing the bleachers empty during games.

Finally, in June, all the bleachers were done and the grand sight of fans cheering in the bleachers was back.

The jumbotron has been a big success so far. It brings Wrigley closer to the twenty-first century.

One of the best things that happened during the first half occurred about a month ago. The Cubs were in a midst of a rain delay of over two hours. Since there was no baseball going on, the Cubs decided to reward the fans who stayed by showing the Chicago Blackhawks’ playoff game. It was a great move that could not be made before.

Once the entire project is completely done around 2018 or so, Wrigley will be a booming place. There will be more tourists, more money flowing for both the Cubs and the city of Chicago, and more jobs for the people. This project is a win-win (paid for entirely by the Cubs), and it started during the first half of this season.
