The Chicago Cubs have certainly had their ups and downs during the first half of the 2015 season. They positioned themselves into the playoff picture for the first time since 2008. In order for them to continue it, however, they have to get hot and have an extended run of good.

Now that we reached the All Star break, we can take a break and look at what has happened over the course of the last three and a half months.

The Chicago Cubs had a very good first half. With a 47-40 record, they have a hold (as tenuous as it is) of the last Wild Card spot.

Team president Theo Epstein’s plan is starting to come to fruition. Perhaps a season sooner than expected. Even so, there are still holes in the roster, and there is still a long way to go to finish the job.

Even with the overall good play of the Cubs, there have also been some missteps. There have been games in which fans just yell “WTF!” and wonder what is going on.

Let’s go over some of the highs and lows of the first half of the 2015 season. Let’s begin with the highlights…
