Round 4, Pick 106

Jordan: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor

Carlos: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor

Dhruv: Lorenzo Mauldin,, OLB, Louisville

Jordan and I agree on taking Petty of the board here if he is available. While some fans still have faith in Jay Cutler, Pace and Fox have no ties to him, and they will not want their Chicago careers to be dependent on him. If they go down, it will be with THEIR quarterback.

Dhruv decides to shore up the linebacker corps even more. He goes with an outside linebacker this time, and he continues to work on the defense.

Jordan: “If there was an opposite to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, it would be Bryce Petty of Baylor. Petty has an infectious personality that his teammates can be motivated by. Petty has been downgraded by some because of Baylor’s offensive scheme, but his big arm and West Coast offense style make him a fit for the Bears.”

Carlos: “While some question Petty’s ability to work in a pro style offense, he did work quite a bit from under the center. He’s also shown quite a bit through the NFL Combine and his Pro Day. He has a big body and a big arm, but he also shows a nice touch when needed. If he takes a red-shirt year in 2015, he will bee even better.”

Dhruv: Solid player with good pass rushing skills and a high motor. Good size a pretty high football IQ. A value pick as he has a third round grade from a lot of scouts.”
