Round 3, Pick 71

Jordan: Nate Orchard, DE, Utah

Carlos: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami (FL)

Dhruv: Danielle Hunter, DE, Louisiana State

For the second round in a row, all three of us go with defense. Defense is the Chicago Bears’ staple, and after the last two seasons of failure, it is time for the Monsters of the Midway to return.

This is where Jordan and Dhruv go with an end. As I said, a team cannot have too many pass rushers.

I, however, go with an inside linebacker. The linebacker corps is improved, and this continues the improvement.

Jordan: “Orchard is more of a project than the other defensive ends in the draft, but the Bears need a defensive end, and if this project succeeds, then the Bears could have the next Trent Cole.”

Carlos: “Perryman was made to be a Bear. If you want the old, hard-hitting defensive unit of old, Perryman will lead the way. He LOVES to hit people and he is aggressive. He has the instincts to pick up routes quickly, and can cover receivers in the slot. He could be the next great linebacker in the long list of great Chicago Bears linebackers.”

Dhruv: Crazy athletic guy with the size and speed to wreak havoc i either a 34 or 43 front. Motor is a bit of a question mark so coaching will be key. But this is a first round talent.”
