Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia Eagles, Age 27

After missing the 2013 season with an injury, Jeremy Maclin returned in 2014 and had his best season. He had 85 receptions for 1,318 yards, 10 touchdowns and a 15.5 yards per catch average. Those were all career highs.

Maclin stated that his preference is to stay in Philadelphia, but after the LeSean McCoy trade, it appears that head coach Chip Kelly is putting in his players (most of them former Oregon Ducks).

Maclin will be 27 when the season starts, so he will be in his prime. He did have that ACL tear, but he showed he was over that and that it won’t be a lingering issue.

Maclin has the speed and big play capability the Bears could use in their offense. With John Fox, the Bears look to run more, but, as I mentioned earlier, this is a passing league, so receivers are needed.

With Cobb off the market, Maclin becomes the number one receiver in the market. With that, there will be quite a few teams after him. He was reportedly close to a deal with Philadelphia which would pay him about $9 million per year, but the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings could be in on him. The Bears will have competition for Maclin’s talents, and that may drive up his price. He may be too pricey for the Bears, and I see a reunion with Andy Reid.
