Jalen Collins, CB, LSU

Jalen Collins is the type of cornerback that teams will need to have. He is 6-foot-2, long enough to give the big receivers trouble. With teams going to the big, tall receivers, defenses need to respond, and Collins is one of those players to do it.

While he has the height to challenge the big receivers, Collins also has the speed to keep up with the smaller, quicker receivers as well.

Collins can play lock down defense one-on-one, or he could play well in zone coverage. With his big frame, he is also able to provide good run support.

Of course, with his tall frame, he can sometimes get a little sloppy with his footwork. That is something that can be fixed with help from pro coaches.

Collins is projected to go in the third or fourth round, which is good for the Bears. Cornerback is not the most pressing need for the Bears defense, and if they picked him up, he can play the nickel package the way Kyle Fuller was supposed to do in 2014. If he plays well enough, he can bump Tim Jennings into the nickel. Jennings had a terrible 2014, and a little competition may get his engines running again.
