After a 13-8 start in the “first quarter” of the regular season, the Chicago Bulls finished the “second quarter” of the 2014-2015 season with a 14-7 mark, to bring their record to 27-15 after the first half of the season.
The 27-15 record for the Bulls is good for fourth-best in the Eastern Conference and they lead the Central Division by five games over … the Milwaukee Bucks. (Nope, not the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.)
The Bulls got off to a blistering start in the “second quarter”, racking up nine wins — seven in a row at one point — in the first 11 games. A few marquee wins included a 115-106 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers and a 103-97 win over the rough and rigid Memphis Grizzlies on the road.
After the hot start, the Bulls cooled off to end the quarter with a 5-5 mark, that included injuries to Mike Dunleavy, Jr. (ankle) and more recently, Joakim Noah (ankle).
We’ll take at the best (and worst) from the Bulls in the second quarter of the season.
