The Bears cannot get into an early hole.

In the games against New England and Green Bay, the Bears had to dig themselves out of early holes, and they did not do a good job of doing so.

Whatever game plan they had was thrown away just so they could try to come back. As they did that, things got worse. They ended up in a vicious circle of failure.

In order for the Bears to do well, Matt Forte has to be involved in the running game. That was a key in the game last week against the Packers, but since they fell to early deficits so quickly, they had to pretty much abandon the running game and throw the ball more. We know what happens when Jay Cutler has to keep forcing the ball downfield.

If the Bears can keep things from blowing up early, they can run their gameplan, give Forte the ball and have him run all over the Minnesota defense. The Vikings are 4th in the league in pass defense, so running the ball is crucial for the Bears to win.
