Jake Peavy, a rumored target for the Chicago Cubs, is on the mound for the Giants and could clinch the World Series title with a victory. If the Giants do win the World Series on Tuesday, then that may set up an announcement by the Cubs. The potential Cubs’ announcement could be to announce Joe Maddon as the team’s new manager. - The Cubs don’t want to thwart their positive momentum by handling their current manager situation poorly.
"How the Cubs handle Renteria will be very important. Things have been positive for the Cubs for months now, and they do not want to stop that momentum by having a negative story, especially when this is one of the most anticipated offseasons in recent history. Hope is riding high with the Cubs, and they don’t want to ruin that."
