Better news: Derrick Rose played all eight preseason games and played consistently well.
Best news: Derrick Rose appears to be a more-improved version of his old self.
Rose had a preseason where highlights came in bulk orders. From slicing and dicing his way through defenders in the lane to exploding out into the open floor for easy transition buckets, the 2011 NBA MVP gave Bulls fans a glimpse of what could be to come in his return from a torn meniscus.
Not only did Rose shoot over 48 percent from the floor during the eight games, Rose drained over 43 percent of his three-point attempts and showed that his on-ball defense hasn’t missed a beat.
Rose’s advanced numbers looked as stellar as his game too. Between a 28.77 PER (player efficiency rating), a 60.5 TS% (true shooting percentage) and 117.0 offensive rating, Bulls fans were pleased with Rose’s offensive output throughout the preseason.
(Plus, highlights like these didn’t hurt matters…)
