Tensions are high in Chicago concerning the Bears. Last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers was ugly, and the reactions to the loss were ugly as well. It got to the point where some players wore camouflage shirts reading “hunker down” and “no noise” on them.
While fans are complaining about how the defense has let the team down, it has not been bad. It is a middle-of-the-road defense, ranking 16th against the rush and 17th against the pass. If the Bears had this defense last year, they would have won the NFC North.
The problems have been consistency. They have not had a full sixty minute consistent game. They have put together some very good quarters, but not four of them in a row in a game. In every game this season, there have been a couple of plays that have decided the game. Lately, those key plays have gone against the Bears.
We will take a look at what areas to look for in this game that are important for the Bears to do in order to win.
