Another big surprise is the Cubs 2011 16th round pick catcher Rafael Lopez. He’s having a superb season thus far, and just had a great week where he had an OPS of 1.033. This is not some run of luck either. He’s been consistently great at the plate. You can never have too many catchers that’s for sure.
The other big news is that Jorge Soler is once again on the 7 day DL. Apparently its his other hamstring now. The Cubs have said they will change his training program. I should hope so as this is a constant recurrence. I assume more emphasis on flexibility and core strength will be the focus as Soler may be a tad too tight muscled and thus susceptible to muscle pulls.
