The Bears are unlikely to select a QB high, and they probably couldn’t even justify doing so . They have their main back up in Jordan Palmer if Cutler goes down for any significant time. He has the profile of a Quarterback who can succeed in Trestman’s offense just as Josh McCown did, so drafting a QB is not a move the Bear will be doing unless they see a special talent that can fetch them value in return. They also have a nice developmental prospect in the large athletic practice squader Jerrod Johnson.  Johnson is talented athletically and has a canon for an arm. Just the kind of kid Trestman can fix and flip like a Cadillac with a blown trans. At some point though the Bears need to stockpile these types of QB’s to flip, or turn into compensatory picks should they leave via free agency. With Trestman’s rep and being well respected among the league’s decision makers Teams in need may be willing to pay a premium for an NFL developed, and ready quarterback trained under the watchful eye of Trestman.
