10 Matt Eberflus Replacements Bears Should Already Be Hunting
By Todd Welter
7. Kellen Moore
Watching the Philadelphia Eagles' offense pick up chunk play after chunk play yesterday against the Jacksonville Jaguars is why Moore is added to this list. He has an extensive background in running offenses from his days as the offensive coordinator in Dallas, Los Angeles, and now Philadelphia.
This might be the time he finally becomes a head coach.
8. Aaron Glenn
This is still the Bears and they are still owned by the McCaskeys. The McCaskey family loves their defensive-minded head coaches.
Glenn has been in the mix for jobs in the past, and an NFLPA survey saw Glenn finish as the assistant coach players thought would be the next one to get a head coaching gig.
Detroit's defense is just a percentage point behind the Bears in points allowed. At least, he might be able to tap into some of Dan Campbell's staff to get some offensive minds to come with him to Chicago.
9. Ejiro Evero
Again, this is the McCaskeys we are talking about and they love their defensive coaches and he did interview for coaching jobs in the last cycle. The Carolina Panthers are a hot mess, but he does have a good reputation around the league.
10. Mike Vrabel
This would be the best CEO-head coach hiring that Bears' ownership loves and what Poles seems to prefer.
He is taking the year off after being fired in Tennessee where he had a lot of success. While he is not an offensive-minded head coach, Ryan Tannehill's career was revived under his administration.
This would be better than hiring Bill Belichick. Belichick is one of the best head coaches of all time. He also has never won anything without Tom Brady and his trying to be the smartest person in the room finally caught up to him at the end of his run in New England with the terrible rosters he built.
Vrabel does not need to run the front office either as Belichick would likely demand power that Poles would not give up.
