Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard makes NFL Top 100 list

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard makes a top 100 list of the best players in the NFL.

Not a single player on the Chicago Bears roster has been mentioned in the top 100 players list put out by NFL Network. That list was voted on by NFL players, and unless there is a major surprise coming in the top 30, the franchise will be completely left out.

That being said, on Thursday, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports put out his own top 100 list. While the list also lacks a major Windy City presence, at least they got one player on this one. After his incredible rookie season with the Bears, running back Jordan Howard comes in at number 81 for Prisco. Here is what he had to say about Howard:

"He finished second in the league in rushing behind a so-so line and without much help from the passing game. The most impressive thing about his rookie year was his 5.2 yards per rush average."

Prisco has Howard as the fifth-highest ranked running back on his list, behind LeSean McCoy, Le’Veon Bell, David Johnson and Ezekiel Elliott.

Howard certainly performed extremely well without a ton of help last season. He showed fantastic power, burst and ball carrier vision that gives him massive upside going forward. Howard figures to be the focal point of the Bears offense in 2017 and it will be interesting to see how he performs with more attention from opposing defenses.

With his rookie season in the books, the Bears have appeared to have found a major steal in Howard. Drafted in the fifth round, Howard entered last season third on the Bears’ depth chart. However, it did not take long for him to make his mark.

Howard quickly looked like the most talented back on the Bears roster and head coach John Fox and company started to ride their rookie back. Expect to see even more of an emphasis on getting Howard involved in 2017. Running the offense through Howard is clearly the best plan of attack for the 2017 Chicago Bears.

Jordan Howard is an extremely talented player who undoubtedly deserves to be mentioned among the best players in the NFL.
