Chicago Bears: “No Chance” QB Jay Cutler Returns to the Windy City
It was always unlikely, but now we are hearing “no chance” that Jay Cutler returns to the Chicago Bears next season.
Who will start under center for the Chicago Bears in 2017? Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. It does, however, seem fairly certain that it will not be Jay Cutler.

According to Stacey Dales of the NFL Network, there is “no chance” that Cutler returns to the Windy City next season. It has always seemed extremely likely that the Bears find a new starting quarterback this off season, but it is becoming more and more certain by the day.
The Bears gave up two first-round picks, a third-round selection and Kyle Orton to acquire Cutler from the Denver Broncos way back in 2009. With his big arm and exciting playing style, Cutler was supposed to be the savior of the franchise. Well, it is safe to say that it never worked out.
Cutler has a 51-51 record as a starter for the Chicago Bears. He also only played in two playoff games for the team. Cutler is far from the worst quarterback in the history of the franchise, but he never even came close to reaching expectations. At this point, it is time for both sides to move on.
We have no idea what the Bears will do to replace Cutler at the quarterback position. I, for one, hope that the Mike Glennon rumors do not end up coming true. I do not know everything, but I do know that Mike Glennon is not the answer to the Bears’ quarterback issues. It also seems fairly obvious that a huge number of Bears’ fans agree with me.

Ideally, the Bears will be able to find a young quarterback to build around. Whether that is trading for Jimmy Garoppolo from the New England Patriots or selecting Deshaun Watson or Mitch Trubisky with the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, a move for a franchise signal caller simply must be made.
Getting rid of Cutler is the first step to cleaning up the terrible quarterback situation of the Chicago Bears.
