With the NBA Trade Deadline on February 23, the Chicago Bulls are active as they look to continue to overhaul their roster with younger and more athletic players.

The Chicago Bulls are at the center of many NBA trade rumors as the NBA Trade Deadline approaches on February 23 and the latest Bulls’ trade rumors involve Doug McDermott and Robin Lopez.

According to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the Bulls are exploring trades of both McDermott and Lopez. According to the report, the Bulls are seeking a first round selection for either player.

More from Da Windy City

Lopez is averaging 9.8 reports per game and 6.9 rebounds per game while starting at center for the Bulls this season. Lopez is owed $14.1 million in each of the next two seasons and is in his first season with the Bulls.

Meanwhile, McDermott is shooting .443 from the field and .379 from 3-point range while playing 24.2 minutes per game in his third season with the Bulls.

One would question how successful the Bulls can be seeking a first round selection for either McDermott or Lopez. Of the two, McDermott likely has the greater chance of fielding the Bulls a first round selection.

Acquiring a first round selection would help the Bulls as they continue to infuse their roster with younger and more athletic players. The Bulls have been at the center of trade discussions for Philadelphia 76ers’ center Jahlil Okafor. It’s possible that if the Bulls did acquire a first round pick for either McDemott or Lopez, the team could then turn around and send that pick to the 76ers as part of their package for Okafor.
