The 2015 Chicago Bulls failed to reach the playoffs. What went wrong this season that made this happen?

The 2015 Chicago Bulls season is finally coming to an end. It was a frustrating, irritating season full of injuries and bad play. A season that was full of promise at the beginning is now limping to a forgettable end.

The thought with the firing of Tom Thibodeau as coach and the hiring of Fred Hoiberg was that the Chicago Bulls would improve on offense and continue playing good defense. The Bulls were supposed to be the only team with a realistic chance of dethroning LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers as Eastern Conference champions.

Things did not work out as planned.

Hoiberg had some problems throughout the season. He did not connect with some of the players, and others just could not play in his up-tempo offensive scheme. His team not only did not play as well on offense as expected, but also regressed on defense.

Now, the Bulls will most certainly make quite a few roster changes. There are some contracts that are up, and the front office will need to decide whether they want to bring back those players.

Before we look ahead to the draft lottery and free agency, we should perform an autopsy on the 2015 Chicago Bulls, and see what went wrong.
