We all know about the top prospects in this year’s NFL draft. There are some, however, who are not known but who will be steals. The Chicago Bears need to find some of those players to have a successful draft.

This weekend all the eyes of the football world will be set on Indianapolis, the site of the NFC Scouting Combine. Some of the top prospects will be looking to solidify their chances of fulfilling their dreams of making it to the big time and teams are looking to find prospects who will get them closer to the Super Bowl.

There are also a set of prospects who are trying to capture that dream, but who are not well known…yet. These players are hoping to open some eyes and raise their stocks.

This second group of prospects are going to be steals. They may have played in small schools that get no attention, or they may have gotten lost in the shuffle of big programs. This is their moment to shine and show how capable they are of succeeding in the NFL.

The Chicago Bears have nine draft picks (so far) so they will have a chance to really affect the roster with young players. In order to be successful, their scouting program will need to hit on these steals. If they can get second round talent in the fifth round or so, it will go long in shortening their rebuild.

Of course, there are no guarantees. Some of those projected in the lower rounds may be there for a reason. There are usually some surprises, however.
