The biggest piece of news that came from Wednesday’s start of training camp was the announcement that Bears’ rookie wide receiver Kevin White will start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. White has been dealing with a shin injury and there is no timetable for when the rookie will return to the field.

White was among the topics that new Chicago Bears’ head coach John Fox addressed while speaking with reporters on Wednesday. Fox also touched on the progress of Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler. Fox praised Cutler’s personality while telling reporters that the quarterback will be evaluated by his performance and no other narrative.

Speaking of Cutler, the quarterback had praise for the mentality that Fox brings to the locker room as the Bears’ new head coach. Fox’s approach can not be understated considering how fractured the Bears’ locker room became during the two seasons that Marc Trestman was the head coach of the team.

The change in coaching staffs also has Jared Allen excited for the upcoming season. Allen will be playing outside linebacker for the first time in his 12-year career.

While Allen will be changing positions in 2015, there is no position change expected for Kyle Long. Long will open training camp as the Bears’ right guard. Speculation has insisted that the Bears will move Long to the right tackle position but Fox is not ready to make that commitment yet.

With the Bears’ first practice coming on Thursday, it is important that Bears’ fans know the team schedule during training camp.

Chicago Bears News and Notes From Around FanSided

Kevin White To Start Training Camp On The PUP List–[Da Windy City–Jordan Campbell]

"Entering the 2015 season, White is expected to start on the opposite side of Alshon Jeffery. With White on the sidelines, Marquess Wilson will likely see time during training camp as the Bears’ No. 2 wide receiver. Behind the two starting wide receivers will be veteran Eddie Royal. Royal figures to be an important piece to the Bears’ offense in 2015 as he gives the team a legitimate slot wide receiver."

John Fox Praises Jay Cutler’s Personality–[Da Windy City–Jordan Campbell]

"Fox is not tied to Cutler like previous head coach Marc Trestman was. If Cutler falters in 2015, then chances are the Bears will have a new starting quarterback in 2016. If Cutler succeeds in 2015, then the quarterback will likely return for the 2016 season. But, Fox is going to let Cutler’s performance be the determining factor and not any other narrative. A concept that is often lost among Bears’ fans."

Jay Cutler Appreciates John Fox’s Honesty–[Da Windy City–Jordan Campbell]

"Cutler could not be any more accurate in his assessment of Fox. After all, that is the reason why the Bears hired Fox after two miserable seasons with Marc Trestman at the helm. Fox will speak in football language and not create a circus-type atmosphere like the one the Bears were operating under during the past two seasons."

Jared Allen Excited For Life As An Outside Linebacker–[Da Windy City–Jordan Campbell]

"Allen has spent his first 12 seasons in the NFL playing as a defensive end but that will be changing under new Bears’ head coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. The Bears will be employing a base 3-4 defense for first time in team history during the 2015 season. In their base 3-4 system, Allen will be considered an outside linebacker."

Chicago Bears To Keep Kyle Long At Right Guard–[Da Windy City–Jordan Campbell]

"Fox wouldn’t comment on the idea of Long shifting over to the right tackle position permanently but did indicate that there will be shifting along the offensive line throughout training camp."

Chicago Bears Training Camp Schedule–[Bear Goggles On–Mike Burzawa]

"So you’re thinking about heading down to Bourbonnais to see what all the fuss is about with John Fox and the latest version of the Chicago Bears.  The first practice is open to the public starting on Thursday, but the real action will pick up on Saturday when the pads come on for the first time."
