Chicago Bears: 4 free agents to help replace David Montgomery

Running backs to replace Chicago Bears free agent David Montgomery: Damien Harris
Joining Montgomery and Sanders as a free agent from that 2019 running back class is former Alabama product Damien Harris, who spent his first four years with the New England Patriots. Harris has plenty left in the tank as well, primarily due to the fact that Bill Belichick would use a myriad of running backs on a game-to-game basis.
Last year, the Patriots made the switch to second-year pro Rhamondre Stevenson, who ended up going over the 1,000-yard mark and making Harris look expendable during this year’s free agency period. There is virtually no chance he ends back up in New England, with the Patriots constantly adding new running backs every other year it seems.
Harris is a hard-nosed runner, as well, and would give the Bears the physical style back they liked in Montgomery. He’s a great short yardage back and stout on the goal line. He doesn’t catch a lot of passes, but Harris wouldn’t necessarily have to if the Bears allowed Herbert to take most of those downs.
Herbert would still be the guy, but giving Harris a solid 8-10 touches per game would help keep him fresh and allow the Bears to run the ball as much as they’d like.
