Chicago Bears: 5 dream targets in 2023 NFL free agency

Dream targets for the Chicago Bears in free agency: Tremaine Edmunds, LB
Back in 2018, the Bears drafted Roquan Smith no. 8 overall. Eight picks later, the Buffalo Bills snagged Tremaine Edmunds. Five years later, Chicago has the chance to make a swap while also netting a draft pick in the process.
Edmunds would be welcomed back in Buffalo, but the Bills are hard-pressed against the cap and need to make some moves in order to bring him back. They also have to worry about re-signing Jordan Poyer, which might make them have to choose between the two.
In Chicago, Edmunds would fit excellently as the middle man of that defense. He is a player who has gone over 100 tackles in every season he’s been in the league, as well as made two Pro Bowls. Edmunds, a former Virginia Tech standout, is only 24 years old at the moment. He’d give the Bears a long-term answer at middle linebacker and make the Smith trade a little easier to move past.
