Chicago Bears: 3 free agent RBs to fill in for David Montgomery
By Adam Rosen
Marshawn Lynch
This one may seem like a massive stretch, but Beast Mode, if healthy and in shape, could be one of the best red-zone running backs in the entire NFL. Obviously, the former Seahawks running back hasn’t played anything close to a full NFL season since 2017.
Lynch would have to be willing to take a one year deal and a small sum of money. But if Lynch were to sign with the Chicago Bears, it would provide the best of the best in terms of veteran leadership amongst free agent running backs.
Not many offensive players left in the free-agent market have the ability like Lynch to help bring together a unit in every way possible. The Bears absolutely need somebody with Lynch’s caliber in their backfield.
A former Super Bowl champion, (probably should be a two-time champion) Lynch is arguably the most powerful running back of the last decade. Lynch has accrued over 600 broken tackles. That’s a ridiculous number for anybody. In fact, you can argue he’s one of the best in the last decade. Lynch is a Hall of Famer, and it’s not often that a Hall of Famer looms in free agency.
Marshawn Lynch is probably a pipe-dream for the Bears, and most likely he won’t be playing this year, barring an injury to a Super Bowl contender’s starting running back.
But if it were to happen, Lynch would be a fun player to watch, especially when he arrives with a truck full of Skittles.
