Chicago Bears: 5 burning questions about the offense
By Ryan Heckman
5. How will Mitchell Trubisky respond to the pressure?
Starting in training camp, it will be evident early on whether or not Mitchell Trubisky has turned all of the pressure into a positive. With the Bears bringing in Nick Foles, he will have the weight of the world on his shoulders from the very first practice.
Every snap, every read, every throw — it will all be underneath a microscope. That’s just how it is. When you’re a fourth-year quarterback and former number two overall selection, now having a veteran creeping over your shoulder, you are bound to feel an immense amount of adversity amongst your surroundings.
The question now becomes, how does Trubisky respond?
We all know how great of a person he is off the field. We know how likable he is, whether it be with his own teammates, the media or even fans. He’s genuinely somebody you want to see succeed.
But, none of that matters if he doesn’t rise up beneath all of this pressure. If there is no true improvement seen in camp, nor in the preseason, Trubisky will see his job vanish in front of him.
This might be the biggest question surrounding the Bears in 2020. It’s all on Trubisky to create his own future, not only with the Bears, but in this league.
