6. WR Javon Wims

A training camp star in 2019, many thought that Javon Wims was going to have an increased role last season, however, he’d spend some of his time on the bench and not enough time on the field. It’s fair to question why Wims wasn’t entirely able to take advantage of the opportunities ahead of him in 2019, especially since veterans like Taylor Gabriel were injured.

When comparing his stats from 2019 to his rookie season in 2018, Wims saw increases in receiving yards, receptions, and yards per reception. However, he still didn’t have enough opportunities to prove himself.

What Wims can be for the Bears, if he manages to turn things around is another big target for whoever the quarterback can be. His height (6-foot-2), makes him an ideal target in the redzone and a mismatch against smaller defenders.

As he heads into year three, Wims still faces an uphill battle to make the Bears roster. With the acquisitions of Tedd Ginn Jr. and Darnell Mooney this offseason, along with increased competition from Wims college teammate Riley Ridley, there is a serious chance Wims isn’t on the Bears roster come week one.
