Chicago Bulls: Ranking every 1st round pick from 2010s
By Ryan Heckman
2. Guard Coby White, North Carolina (2019)
It is dangerous placing Coby White second overall on this list, especially because he didn’t even get a chance to finish his entire rookie season just yet — or maybe ever at this point. But, I think it’s safe to say that there has not been a Chicago rookie who has made such an instant impact in a short amount of time since Derrick Rose.

White started his rookie year out pretty strong, proving early on that he can score the basketball. But, as the season wore on, he kind of tapered off a little bit; hit the rookie wall, so to speak.
The few weeks before the season was put on hold, however, White was on fire. He finally ended up starting his first game right before the league suspended play. Fans certainly called for White to start far before that point in time, but you know, Boylen.
From late February until the time the NBA suspended play, White scored at least 20 points in eight of nine games. He even scored 33 or more points in three straight towards the end of February. In those three games, White knocked down 18 three point shots. He was lights out.
Being able to create his own offense, as well as create for others, is going to make this kid special going forward. I know it’s early in his career, but I don’t think there’s any denying he’s already one of the best first-rounders this team has had in quite some time.
