Bears vs. Chiefs: Three biggest disappointments in tough loss
Disappointment #1: QB Mitch Trubisky
I really would like to not criticize quarterback Mitch Trubisky every time I write about the Bears, but here we are. Despite some minor improvements in recent weeks, the young QB continues to struggle and remains inconsistent.
The Bears entered this game on Sunday hoping to show that Trubisky may not be nearly as good as Mahomes, but he’s at least a franchise quarterback. That was an argument that could’ve been somewhat valid a few weeks ago, but now it’s again unclear.
During a short winning streak earlier this season (three games), Trubisky started to run the ball more and seemed more comfortable in the pocket knowing he could take off for positive yardage.

Those wins kept the Bears in playoff contention, and fans (including me) were hesitant to write Trubisky off and say the team should move on after his performance. But now it seems that the Bears need to at least bring someone in to push him to be better.
Trubisky didn’t even reach 100 yards passing until the fourth quarter, and he wasn’t breaking off big runs out of the backfield as he did against the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago. He looked lost at times and again struggled reading the defense.
The future of the quarterback position for the Bears will likely be their biggest question this offseason. Does the team feel the same way about bringing another QB in to push Trubisky? It’s something to watch for in the coming months.
