Reason No. 3: Let’s go win it all

Are the doubts prevalent? Sure. But, do the Bears have an absolutely loaded roster at the moment? They sure do.

These Bears are as set as they might ever be, with their current core, to go win a Super Bowl. Question Mitchell Trubisky all you want, but the majority of the roster is elite through and through. Adding Fitzpatrick to an already-nasty defense like this, and you’re going to see offenses tremble even more.

I’ve already mentioned that the money makes sense at least for two years, and the fact that Fitzpatrick can bring this unit depth at multiple positions? Come on now; what’s not to love about potentially adding him to this roster?

The idea that Fitzpatrick would cost the Bears a first or second-rounder is fine. The Bears haven’t exactly lost sleep over trading picks away over the last couple of seasons. If Chicago has to send over the 2020 second-rounder they received from the Oakland Raiders as part of the Khalil Mack trade, then so be it. Fitzpatrick is well-worth it.

That second-rounder and maybe another future second-rounder could be the best offer Miami receives. The Miami Herald has reported that the team isn’t likely to get the high asking price they’re seeking at the moment, anyway.

This is a move a Super Bowl contender makes, regardless of the risk of losing draft capital. Fitzpatrick is an excellent player and would only further cement this defense as the Super Bowl unit it already is.
