San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. They are true Stanley Cup contenders and should be for a while. They have one of the premier blue lines as they have two of the five best defensemen in the NHL with Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns. Add Marc-Edouard Vlasic to that and you have a truly great core. Then up front, they have game-breaking forwards like Logan Couture, Evander Kane, Timo Meier, Tomas Hertl and Kevin Labanc.

They also have Joe Thornton returning for another season at 40 years old. It is going to be fun to watch the old veteran play another season. You may remember Joe Pavelski, who has been such a great San Jose Shark for a really long time. He made a somewhat shocking move to the Dallas Stars in free agency which is a void left behind but the Sharks are really deep at forward.

Last year, the Sharks came in second place in the division with a 46-27-9 record for 101 points. They were about to be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs until they made a remarkable three-goal comeback to win one of the wildest game sevens you will see in overtime. The Blackhawks went 1-2-0 against them for two standing points. That should be a surprise to nobody because the Sharks beat almost everyone. You should expect the Sharks to be elite once again in 2019-20.
