Oren Burks is out with an injury, but when on the field he is supposed to be their coverage linebacker. Yet, in his second year he has still been inconsistent.
Ty Summers is a seventh-round pick from this past draft and he had some fantastic plays this preseason, but missed tackles is a huge issue of his. Now, they’ve just traded for B.J. Goodson but, with it being a short week, I’m not sure we can expect to see him Thursday night. While Summers will see a fair number of snaps, safety Raven Greene is going to fill that role next to Martinez in the dime defense.
Takeaway: As many Bears fans have anticipated, I would assume we see a lot of David Montgomery on Thursday night. Green Bay has to be concerned about the inside linebackers right now, and Matt Nagy surely knows that.
