4. Bears will send three linebackers to the Pro Bowl

If the Bears are going to finish with more sacks in 2019 than they had a year ago, it’s going to come by way of these linebackers. Sure, we’ve already talked about Nichols and how he is bound to break out this season. But, we just got done talking about how we should see a lot more blitzing from Roquan Smith.

Not only should Smith’s sack numbers rise, but he will likely again lead the Bears in overall tackles. If that happens, he’s going to the Pro Bowl. There’s no way he shouldn’t, if that happens. Obviously, Mack will be there. Additionally, I think Leonard Floyd gets in for the first time in his career.

This is a big year for Floyd. As a former first-round pick, he’s only compiled 15.5 sacks in three seasons. His rookie year, Floyd finished with 7.0 and he hasn’t reached that number since. This is the year for Floyd. It’s now or never, in terms of a breakout.

The somewhat sad part of this is that I cannot forget about Danny Trevathan. He’s still one of the better inside linebackers in all of football, but he is surrounded by so much talent that it’s hard for him to truly stand out. Let’s not forget how good he is, and that he makes this Bears core the best group of linebackers in all of football.
