Chicago Bears: 4 players to trade before roster cuts
By Ryan Heckman
Tight End Adam Shaheen
Now entering his third year, former second-round pick Adam Shaheen still has much to prove. Physically, he presents a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses. Shaheen is an ideal red zone target, that’s a given. But, is he cut out for the NFL? Many are waiting for him to answer the call — most Bears fans included.

Last year, Shaheen missed the majority of the season with an injury. But, when he came back, Shaheen showed flashes here and there. That was a positive.
The thing with the Bears tight end group now, though, is that it could wind up being a deeper spot. Of course, you have Trey Burton as the starter. Behind Shaheen, the Bears have Ben Braunecker, who they brought back on a two-year deal. They also have Bradley Sowell, who switched from offensive line to tight end this season.
Then, you get into the young guys. Chicago has two notable undrafted free agents at the position. Dax Raymond, who comes out of Utah State, presents defenses with traits of a wide receiver, especially after the catch. Many fans fell in love with Raymond after watching his tape following the pickup.
Secondly, the Bears have Ian Bunting out of California (a Michigan transfer) who has impressed throughout camp thus far. Both of these guys are intriguing and could push for a roster spot.
