What? Khalil Mack? What does he have to prove?
Nothing.

The scary part about Mack on this defense, though, is that he can be even better. Mack didn’t even have training camp last year. He was thrust into his role with a brand new defense, new teammates and told to go out and be an All Pro — and he did it.
Mack is entering an important training camp this year purely based off the fact that, I’m sure, he believes he can play at an even higher level this season.
Here’s the real kicker: The Bears didn’t even have Roquan Smith in a camp with Mack last year. Both of them get a chance to go through the process of training camp, together, with the Bears, for the first time.
The two most important, most talented linebackers on the team have a chance to mesh even more through camp.
Just think about how Mack made everyone better last season. He didn’t even get a shot to learn about all of his teammates’ nuances or tendencies on the field. He just went out there and played football. Imagine what will happen after he becomes more comfortable with these guys and gets to go through an entire offseason together.
