Chicago Bears: Who could make the Pro Bowl in 2020?
By Usayd Koshul
6. Leonard Floyd
In the final weeks of the 2018 regular season, Leonard Floyd began to heat up. Unfortunately, due to a hand injury that slowed him down the first half of the season, Bears fans didn’t see a complete version of Leonard Floyd until mid-November.
It really is fair to wonder. What would have happened had Floyd been healthy all season? Would he have made the Pro Bowl in his third season in the NFL?
It seems like he would have. In the month of December alone, Floyd managed to notch three sacks, 18 tackles, and eight quarterbacks hits. Clearly, his best month of football in 2018 and since entering the NFL.
Floyd will be 27 years old next season and in his fourth season, it’s likely that he reaches his full potential as a top-ten draft pick.
The goal for Floyd in 2019 is going to be to feed off of the momentum that he had during the final month of 2018. Only he will control how good he can really be.
For Floyd, a Pro Bowl berth is something that is within reach in his fourth NFL season. Coming out of Georgia, most knew it would likely take a few years for Floyd to be the dominant pass rusher that the Bears envisioned him to be.
As he enters his fourth NFL season, it seems as if Floyd will join the NFL’s elite pass rushers and punch his ticket to Orlando for 2020.
